DR. DRE TO 'MOVE ON' AFTER 'DETOX' ALBUM

Dr. Dre has announced that his next album, titled “Detox,” will be his swan song in a solo recording career that launched with his historic 1992 debut, “The Chronic.”

"I think it's time to move on," he tells the Los Angeles Times, calling rhyming "a young man's game." The album, Dre’s first in seven years, will be released sometime in 2008, according to Interscope Records.

In his first public appearance in years, Dre presented an award at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas with a dramatically beefed-up frame. He says his next two months will be spent working on Eminem’s next album.

Dre also recently signed a multi-year production pact with New Line Cinema, under which he will join longtime collaborator, director Phillip G. Atwelll, to score and possibly direct films.

Anything outside of producing, weight training and time with his family is not on his agenda, he tells the Times.
