CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WWPR (POWER 105.1)/NEW YORK morning man ED LOVER, charged with punching a woman in the face at a NEW YORK nightclub in 2005, has pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge.
LOVER, 43, was sentenced in MANHATTAN to seven days of community service, THE NEW YORK POST reported WEDNESDAY. In pleading guilty to the violation, LOVER did not admit punching the woman as originally charged and will not have a criminal record, the newspaper said.
LETITIA BELFORD from MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ, said she had witnesses ready to testify LOVER hit her as she argued at the club with his girlfriend.
However, prosecutors knew LOVER had his own friends ready to swear he hit BELFORD in self-defense after she threatened him with a glass, an allegation BELFORD denies, THE POST said.
