
Kanye West calls off fashion show performance.
Kanye West will not perform at the Victoria's Secret fashion show as planned. "Entertainment Tonight" says he pulled out of the event following the death of his mother Donda. She died last weekend from complications stemming from plastic surgery. The annual fashion show is set to tape today in Hollywood and will air on CBS December 4. It will apparently feature a special reunion performance by the Spice Girls.
"Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo has tied the knot. The actress' dad tells People magazine she and her fiance Chris Ivery got married last Friday in a small ceremony. The two apparently said their vows at City Hall in New York. Pompeo and Ivery met in a grocery store in 2003. They've always said they planned on having a small wedding.
Matt Damon has been named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive. "The "Bourne Ultimatum" star grabbed the honor from his buddy and last year's title holder George Clooney. Both Clooney and Brad Pitt, who are two-time winners have been campaigning for the actor to take the title for a while now. Damon says he was quote "floored" to hear he'd been named 2007's sexiest man.
Ellen DeGeneres is not taking her show to New York next week as expected. The talk show host has apparently changed her mind and will now stay put in Los Angeles. There's speculation that DeGeneres made the decision following pressure from the Writers Guild of America on the east coast. They reportedly criticized her for continuing to tape during the writers strike and said she was not welcome in New York. A source close to the host says her decision was based on many factors, not just bitter responses from WGA East.
It was a star studded red carpet at the premiere of the new thriller "Awake" last night. Cast members like Jessica Alba, Hayden Christianson and Lena Olin attended the New York premiere. The film is about a man suffering from a disease who finds himself awake but paralyzed during heart surgery. It's set to hit most U.S. theaters November 30.
