Lindsay Lohan spends 84 minutes in jail.

Lindsay Lohan is now out of jail after serving less than two hours there. The young actress reported to a Southern California jail yesterday morning to serve her required 24 hour sentence for her two DUI cases. Lohan reportedly spent only 84 minutes in the facility. Officials apparently let non-violent criminals out early because of overcrowding. Earlier this week the actress also began her court appointed 10 days of community service at the American Red Cross.

Sources say former "American Idol" contestant Katharine Mcphee is engaged. Some tell People magazine the 23 year old singer is planning to marry 42 year old actor Nick Cokas. The two have been dating for more than a year and Mcphee has apparently been seen wearing an engagement ring recently. One source says the singer is quote very excited to plan her upcoming wedding.

"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere says there's a warrant out for her arrest in Japan. In an interview with E! News, the actress says she's wanted in the country because of a confrontation she and others had with a Japanese fisherman. Last month Panettiere was in Japan with the environmental group Save the Whales. The actress-activist joined a group on surfboards in their attempt to interfere with the fisherman's dolphin hunt. When asked about regrets, the young star says she'd do it all over again.

Wayne Newton is calling off several upcoming performances due to heart problems. People magazine says the Las Vegas performer has a viral infection called cardiomyopathy. The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant is canceling a 2 month commitment in Vegas as well as a tour with the ABC dancing show. But doctors say in a few months he should be back to normal health.

Country star LeAnn Rimes is teaching kids how to stay eco-friendly. The singer spoke at the Children's museum in New York yesterday about making decisions to protect the planet. She encouraged the young students to become environmentalists and show their families how to make greener choices at home and in everyday life.
