A federal government agency released the results of a study last week which says that given “the direction we are going” within the next 40 years all adult Americans will be overweight.
The study’s conclusion drew a lot of media attention with several experts expressing doubt that such a projection could actually occur.
However, drawing less attention was an assertion in the study that 78 percent of Black adult women in America are already overweight or obese. The study was compiled by the government’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
