Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy, who died late Tuesday of brain cancer at the age of 77, is being widely recalled as the liberal lion of the Senate, a man who was passionate about health care and programs to aid the poor and working class. But what many people don’t know is that Kennedy helped a number of African-Americans professionally and politically.
