The beating of a 16-year-old honors student in President Barack Obama's Chicago hometown was discussed at the president's morning meeting in the Oval Office on Thursday.
By the afternoon, the White House had announced that it would send Attorney General Eric Holder and Education Secretary Arne Duncan to the Windy City on Wednesday (Oct. 7) to meet with school officials, students and residents to discuss school violence.
