Billy Ray Cyrus apologizes for not buckling up.

Country singer Bill Ray Cyrus is apologizing for not putting safety first. The singer admits he and his daughter Miley Cyrus were wrong for not wearing a seatbelt in Miley's new film. The two faced a lot of criticism for the safety hazard in one scene of the 3-D movie "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour." The film was number one earlier this month and has grossed about 40 million dollars already.

Jack Johnson's new album is flying off the shelves. "Sleep Through the Static" is number one on the Billboard 200 chart this week...reportedly selling 375,000 copies. It's Johnson's second time on the top of the charts. Landing in second is Sheryl Crow's release "Detour." And dropping down to third place is Alicai Keys' "As I am."

David Bowie is helping out actress Scarlett Johansson on her debut album. The British rock star is reportedly contributing 2 songs on the actresses new CD titled "Anywhere I lay My Head." The album is a tribute to Tom Waits and features mostly covers of his songs and one original track by Johansson. It's set for a release on May 20.

Lenny Kravitz is delaying his European concert tour for health reasons. The rocker was apparently hospitalized earlier this week for bronchitis. Kravitz was expected to perform in London next week and continue to tour Europe through March. There's no word on the new concert dates yet. In a statement, the singer apologized to his fans, explaining he just needs some time to get healthy.

Uma Thurman attended the premiere of her new romantic comedy alongside six fiery men. The actress was in London last night for the screening of "The Accidental Husband." She hit the red carpet with a group of firemen...the event benefited the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund. She was also joined by her British co-star Colin Firth. The film is about a woman deciding between her fiancé and a New York firefighter.

Paris Hilton's brother arrested for DUI.

Another Hilton is in trouble with the law. Paris Hilton's 18 year old brother Barron was reportedly arrested yesterday morning for driving under the influence. Police say he was pulled over on a Malibu highway around 8am and failed a sobriety test. He reportedly spent all yesterday in jail. His big sister spent time in jail last year...also for alcohol related driving charges.

A Beagle named Uno is making history as the first in his breed to take Best in Show at Westminster. The crowd went wild last night as Uno took the title at the famous dog show. He competed against more than 160 breeds of dogs and more than 2500 entries. But the final competition was tight...the Beagle was up against a toy poodle, a Weimaraner, a Sealyham terrier, an Akita and an Australian shepherd.

Hollywood writers are heading back to work today...the strike is officially over. As expected, the Writer's Guild of America voted yesterday to end the strike after 3 months out of work. This comes after Hollywood producers agreed over the weekend to give striking writers a portion of the internet profits. That means the Oscars on February 24 will go on as planned, and new shows will start airing in the next few weeks.

Actress Mia Farrow is putting pressure on China to take action against the atrocities in Darfur. At a demonstration outside the Chinese consulate in New York yesterday, Farrow called for protest of the Beijing Olympics. China reportedly helps support the military in Sudan. Farrow is pressing the country to not turn it's back to the killings in the Darfur region.

Four new members have been inducted into the Country music Hall of Fame. Emmylou Harris, Tom T. Hall, the Statler Brothers and the late Ernest "Pop" Stoneman all became new members of the famous hall yesterday. Harris is a twelve time Grammy winner who began her solo career in the seventies. The Statler Brothers started up doing back up for Johnny Cash before starting their successful career. And Hall was a top radio hit in the seventies. Stoneman, who died 40 years ago is known best for his 1920's hit "The Sinking of the Titanic."

Jennifer Lopez pregnant with twins.

It's official...Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are expecting twins. The singer's father David confirmed the rumors on a Spanish language TV show yesterday. He says it's hereditary and his sister also gave birth to twins. There's no word on an exact due date for the new additions. Lopez and Anthony first publicly announced they were expecting last November.

Britney Spears' mother says the pop star's sidekick and manager has been drugging her. Lynne Spears requested, and was granted a temporary restraining order against Sam Lutfi...barring him from being within 250 yard of the singer. Lynne says Lutfi admitted to crushing her pills and putting them in her food. The pop star's mom also says he has taken complete control over her life, including her finances and what goes on at home.

Rosie O'Donnell helped to kick off the annual Kid's Night on Broadway last night. The former talk show host was at Madame Tussauds in New York for the event. The Annual Kid's Night on Broadway allows young people to see several plays for free when with a paying adult. O'Donnell says she's excited to be involved with a program encouraging young people to appreciate Broadway.

Police are questioning Amy Winehouse about alleged drug use. Officials tell People magazine the singer was interrogated about the video posted by a British newspaper, allegedly showing her smoking crack cocaine. But for now no arrests have been made and police say they're looking into it further. The singer has been getting treatment at a London rehab facility since late last month.

"Sex and the City" actress Kristin Davis is working to bring attention to the AIDS epidemic in Africa. The actress was reportedly in South Africa last weekend with the group Oxfam. Davis is an ambassador for the organization. In a statement she says the heroes in the country, helping those suffering from HIV and AIDS, amazed her. But the actress adds that they can't do it on their own...they're in need of more doctors nurses and overall support.

George Clooney named UN Peace Messenger.

Actor and activist George Clooney is using his star power to promote peace. Clooney was named a UN messenger of peace yesterday for his efforts to shine light on war torn regions...particularly in Darfur. The actor spoke at the UN yesterday, urging them to take action in equipping a peacekeeping force in the Sudanese region. Experts predict more than 200,000 people have died and more than two million displaced have been from their homes since the conflict began.

"Grey's Anatomy" star Justin Chambers reportedly checked into the psychiatric ward at an LA hospital earlier this week. The actor's rep says he was treated for severe exhaustion and suffers from a sleeping disorder. He apparently entered voluntarily and has since checked out. It's the same facility where Britney Spears is currently on psychiatric hold.

Meanwhile Spears' ex husband Kevin Federline is supporting the pop stars' hospital stay. One source tells People magazine Federline is concerned for her well-being and thinks psychiatric treatment is the best option for now. He also apparently wants her to get better so she can eventually have a relationship with their sons. Spears was escorted to an L.A. hospital yesterday. Friends say she hasn't slept since Saturday.

Paris Hilton is apparently partying it up in Arizona this Super Bowl week. The hotel heiress hosted a bash last night, celebrating the 6 anniversary of the lifestyle magazine 944. The publication is the official magazine of the 2008 Super Bowl committee. Hilton is in town for all the festivities leading up to the big game. This Sunday the New England Patriots take on the New York Giants for the title.

Mommy-to-be Jessica Alba hit the red carpet last night for the premiere of her new film "The Eye." The actress, who's expecting a baby with her fiance Cash Warren, plays a blind woman who gets her vision back and starts seeing ghosts. Alba's stars in the thriller alongside Alessandro Nivola and Parker Posey. "The Eye" is out in U.S. theaters starting today.

Amy Winehouse check into rehab.

Amy Winehouse is spending time in rehab. Her record label says she checked into a treatment facility earlier this week to get help with her drug addiction. The singer has been making headlines recently after a British newspaper posted a video of her allegedly smoking crack. Her label says she hopes to make an appearance at the Grammy Awards next month. She's nominated in six categories.

Heath Ledger and actress Mary-Kate Olsen apparently had a close relationship before he died. One source tells People magazine the two had been dating casually about 3 months before his death. The masseuse who discovered Ledger's body reportedly used the actor's cell phone to call Olsen, knowing the two were close. Police say she called Olsen a total of four times...three of those calls were made before authorities were notified.

John Travolta is being recognized for his involvement in flying. The actor and pilot was honored at the "Living Legends of Aviation" last night in Beverly Hills. Travolta received the Ambassador of Aviation award. He was joined by other legends like Emily Howell-Warner...the first female airline pilot. Also at the event...Barrington Irving who is the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world. Former Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and his wife Lois were at the ceremony as well.

Scarlett Johansson is preparing to release her first album. The actress' debut CD "Anywhere I Lay My Head" will hit the shelves on May 20. Last spring Johansson reportedly spent a few weeks recording several covers of Tom Waits songs as well as one original track for the album. The actress sang on screen in the film "Lost in translation" and also appeared on stage at the Coachella music festival last spring.

Comedian Jimmy Fallon premiered his new film at the Sundance Film Festival yesterday. He stars alongside Tom Arnold in the comedy "The Year of Getting to Know Us." Other cast members like Illeana Douglas and Sharon Stone attended the premiere as well. The film is about a man who reunites with his estranged father. There's now word on when it will be released.

Police still investigating Heath Ledger's death.

Officials are still looking for answers to the cause of Heath Ledger's death. Police say a rolled up twenty-dollar bill was found near his body and will be tested for narcotics. But authorities added that there were no illegal drugs found in the actor's apartment. This comes after autopsy results came back inconclusive yesterday. Apparently more extensive tests need to be done now. Meanwhile, friends and fans are continuing to pay tribute to Ledger outside his New York apartment. The young actor was found dead in his Manhattan apartment earlier this week. He was only 28.

Britney Spears is still being barred from seeing her children following yesterday's custody hearing. The pop star showed up at the courtroom but then left before it even began. Spears was apparently the one to request the emergency hearing, asking for time with her kids. A court representative says custody orders will remain as is and Spears will continue to have no visitation rights.

A New York judge is sentencing Busta Rhymes to three years probation for several charges. The rapper pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, driving under the influence, and driving with a suspended license. In addition, he's been ordered to pay a fine of more than 1200 dollars, perform community service and attend a Driving While Intoxicated treatment program.

Alicia Keys is topping the charts. Her album "As I am" grabbed the number one spot of the Billboard 200 list. It's her third non-consecutive time at the top. In second is the soundtrack for the film "Juno," starring Ellen Page and Michael Cera. Coming in at third is Mary J. Blige's CD "Growing Pains."

Former "Dancing with the Stars" contestants are putting their dancing shoes on again...this time for a nationwide tour. Several of the show's contestants made a stop in Sunrise, Florida for the 2008 "Dancing With the Stars Tour." Joey Lawrence took the stage alongside Edyta Silwinski. Former champ Drew Lachey also impressed fans dancing with partner Cheryl Burke. Last season's winners, racecar driver Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough are on the tour as well. The tour started a few days ago and will go on through next month.

Heath Ledger found dead in New York

Hollywood is mourning the loss of a loved and admired star. Australian born actor Heath Ledger was found dead at his New York apartment yesterday. He was only 28 years old. There's no confirmation on the cause of death but police say the Oscar nominated actor apparently died of an accidental drug overdose. Ledger was found with prescription drugs near his body.

The actor first emerged into the entertainment scene at age 16. He appeared in the Australian show "Sweat." In 1998 he played a heartthrob alongside Julia Stiles in "10 Things I hate About You." He's also known for his roles in "The Patriot" and "A Knight's Tale." Two years ago he was for an Academy Award for "Brokeback Mountain." On the set of that film, he and actress Michelle Williams began dating and soon after had a daughter Matilda. The pair split last September but friends say he stayed in close contact with his daughter.

In other news, Amy Winehouse's rep is denying rumors that the singer is in rehab. Her spokesperson says Winehouse only visited a doctor whom she sees regularly and did not check in anywhere overnight. There's no indication of the type of treatment she received. Recently, a British newspaper posted tape showing the singer allegedly smoking crack. That video prompted rumors that she was now seeking help. Friends of Winehouse tell People magazine everyone knows she should get treatment.

Some stars are promising not to cross writer's picket lines at the Oscars. Nominee Viggo Mortenson says he won't attend the ceremony if the WGA is striking out front. But the "Eastern Promises" star is confident they'll strike a deal with TV and film Producers soon. Others like Director Tony Gilroy, nominated for "Michael Clayton," agrees...he says he would never cross a picket line. The strike shut down the Golden Globe Award ceremony after most stars refused to attend.

Soccer star David Beckham is working to help children around the world. The athlete reportedly visited Sierra Leone last weekend with the children's charity UNICEF. Beckham made the trip to bring attention to the impoverished country, where child deaths are reportedly the highest in the world. In a statement, the soccer player says helping the kids there is as simple as a mosquito net to help them avoid malaria or a measles vaccination.

Sundance kicks off in Utah.

The Sundance Film Festival is now in full force in Park City, Utah. Stars, film executives and fans are flooding into the snowy city to catch all the action. The event is 11 days of movie screenings and parties...It's dedicated to recognizing independent films. Actor and Director Robert Redford founded the film festival more than 20 years ago. Now his daughter Amy is making her directorial debit at the event. She will premiere her film "The Guitar" later this week.

To kick off the festival last night, Colin Farrell's new film hit the big screen. Farrell, along with other cast member Brendan Gleeson attended the world premiere of "In Bruges." The movie, directed by Martin McDonaugh is about two hit men exiled to Bruges, Belgium. It's expected for a release in Iceland in March.

Actor Daniel Baldwin is enjoying time with his new baby girl. He and his wife Joanne Smith-Baldwin welcomed the new addition yesterday morning. Her name is Avis Anne Baldwin. The actor tells people magazine they feel very blessed. The pair met last year while Baldwin was attending drug and alcohol treatment at a center in Malibu...she was apparently the chef at the facility. The actor has 3 other children from previous relationships.

Four paparazzi members have been arrested for allegedly chasing Britney Spears. The photographers were taken into police custody Wednesday night for reckless driving. They were in four separate cars and were allegedly trying to get photos of the pop star. In the process they were apparently speeding, trailing her too closely and making unsafe lane changes.

Actor Kiefer Sutherland is preparing to leave jail. The "24" star is expected to leave the California facility on Monday after 48 days behind bars. The sentence stems from a second drunk driving charge which violated his probation from the previous conviction. Sutherland apparently spent his birthday and the holidays locked up...keeping mostly to himself during the time.

Matthew McConaughey to be a dad.

Matthew McConaughey is trying out a new role, as a dad. On his website, the actor says his girlfriend, Brazilian model Camilla Alves is pregnant. She's apparently three months along. The actor says they are both very excited to be parents. McConaughey and Alves met more than a year ago...they've been seen together constantly since then.

Hollywood has lost a young star. Actor Brad Renfro died yesterday at the age of 25. He was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment after spending a night with friends. The cause of death is not yet known but Renfro has a history of drug abuse. The actor is best known for his childhood role in "The Client"...he starred along with Susan Sarandon. Renfro recently finished filming a movie with Billy Bob Thornton and Winona Ryder.

"High School Musical" star Zac Efron is recovering from an appendectomy. His rep tells People magazine he was rushed to the hospital yesterday to get his appendix removed. Efron recently signed on for the third installment of the "High School Musical" series, along with the rest of the original cast.

Kevin Federline is speaking out about his problems with his ex Britney Spears. He tells Interview magazine his struggles with the pop star are really no different than anyone else's. But Federline says the media attention makes their situation unique. He tells the publication he thinks it makes people feel normal to watch the woes of public figures. Federline has been in a heated custody battle with Spears for months now. He currently has sole custody of their sons...Spears has no visitation rights.

A star-studded cast hit the red carpet last night for the L.A. premiere of a new romantic drama. Sarah Michelle Geller and Brendan Fraser star in the film "The Air I Breathe." The two attended the event along with other stars like Andy Garcia. The movie also stars Forest Whitaker and Kevin Bacon. "The Air I Breathe" was first released in Greece last month.

Britney Spears vacatons in Mexico.

Britney Spears has taken some time away from the turmoil in L.A. for a Mexican getaway. The pop star reportedly checked in to a hotel just south of the California border on Wednesday. She was joined by her photographer friend who, sources say, she is now dating. Just a week ago, Spears lost visitation rights with her kids following a custody dispute in her home.

Clothing designer Stella McCartney has a new addition to her family. The daughter of former Beatle Paul McCartney and her husband Alasdhair Willis welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday. His name is Beckett Robert Lee. The new baby joins siblings Miller Alasdhair James and Bailey Linda Olwyn.

Pamela Anderson is rejecting rumors that she's pregnant. Reports surfaced recently that she was expecting. But on her blog, Anderson responded with one word..."no." She and husband Rick Salomon are reportedly in the middle of a divorce. Salomon was served with legal papers last month, after only 2 months of marriage.

Actress Mischa Barton is opening up about her recent DUI arrest. The former "O.C." star tells radio host Ryan Seacrest she's "100 percent responsible" for her actions. Barton added that she's really disappointed in herself. The actress was arrested for driving under the influence last month after a night out with friends.

Stars hit the red carpet in London last night for the European premiere of "Sweeney Todd." The film's stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter attended the event as well as Director Tim Burton. Other stars like Alan Rickman and Laura Michelle Kelly were there too. The film, based on the Broadway musical, premiered in the U.S. last month.

Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn is pregnant. The 16 year old actress and her mom Lynne first told OK magazine about the pregnancy. She's apparently about 12 weeks along with her boyfriend Casey Aldridge. Spears reportedly says she was shocked by the news as was the father. Spears stars in the show "Zoey 101" on Nickelodeon.

Actor Chris O'Donnell has welcomed his fifth child. His wife Caroline reportedly gave birth to a baby girl earlier this month. Her name is Maeve Francis and the actor's rep tells People magazine Mom and baby are doing great. The new addition joins one sister and 3 brothers. O'Donnell recently had a brief role on "Grey's Anatomy." He's also set to appear in the film "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl"... Fittingly playing a dad.

Actor Morgan Freeman is helping hungry families prepare for the holidays. Freeman passed out food to needy people at a food bank in Washington DC. He also helped volunteers pack up bags of supplies. The actor apparently chipped in to bring attention to the massive problem of hunger and poverty in the U.S. Many food banks are seeing lower than normal food donations this year.

Singer Amy Winehouse is reportedly in police custody in London. She was arrested Monday for allegedly interfering with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil's assault case. She apparently is facing charges for witness tampering but there are no exact details on why. Her husband is currently in jail, accused of assaulting a barman over the summer.

Pop icon Michael Jackson was reportedly seen wearing bandages on his face over the weekend. He was photographed while shopping in a Las Vegas bookstore with his kids. His spokesman tells the New York Post the singer hadn't had any surgical procedures and had no explanation for the photos. Experts have said Jackson looks like he's had several plastic surgery operations on his face since the 80's. The pop star has admitted to having only one...on his nose to improve his breathing.

Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton have a baby girl.

Actress Helena Bonham Carter and her boyfriend director Tim Burton have welcomed their second baby. Bonham's rep tells People magazine the actress gave birth to a girl on Saturday...there's no word yet on a name. The new addition joins the couple's four year old son Billy. Both Bonham Carter and Burton found out last week that they're nominated for Golden Globes for the film "Sweeny Todd."

Film producer Harvey Weinstein has found his own leading lady. The movie mogul married fashion designer Georgina Chapman at his waterfront estate in Connecticut over the weekend. Big stars like Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Renee Zellweger reportedly attended the event. One guest says it was a very intimate and romantic ceremony under the stars. The pair first started dating in 2005.

Celine Dion gave an emotional final performance in Las Vegas over the weekend. The singer took the stage for the last time at Caesars Palace hotel on Saturday night. Her "A New Day" show has had a nearly five year run, grossing more than 400 million dollars. At the final show, Dion called her experience a "wonderful adventure." Following her last song, the singer was greeted onstage by her 7 year old son and husband Rene Angelil.

Will Smith's new film lead the way at U.S. box offices over the weekend. The sci-fi thriller "I am Legend" starring Smith and Alice Braga debuted at number one, bringing in more than 76 million dollars in ticket sales. "Alvin and the Chipmunks" starring Jason Lee grabbed the second spot. And landing in third was "The Golden Compass" with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. That's all according to Box Office Mojo.

Several music superstars took the stage in south Florida for this year's Jingle Ball over the weekend. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton hosted the event. Artists like Nelly Furtado and former "American Idol" contestant Elliot Yamin were just a few of the performers. Natasha Bedingfield was also there as well as R&B star Sean Kingston and the Plain White T's.

Kanye West and Amy Winehouse lead Grammy nods.

Kanye West and Amy Winehouse are leading the way in Grammy nominations. West grabbed 8 nominations including album of the year for "Graduation." Winehouse earned herself six nods including best new artist and song of the year for "Rehab." Other artists like Justin Timberlake and Jay Z took 5 nominations. The Award ceremony will take place on February 10 in Los Angeles.

More celebrities are signing on to star in the new "X-Files" movie. Actress Amanda Peet, rapper Xzibit and comedian Billy Connolly are all on board for the sci-fi thriller. They'll join the original cast members from the popular TV series, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. But producers won't confirm the actors' roles yet. Filming is set to begin next month and it's set to be released in July.

Actress Scarlett Johanssen may take legal action against US Weekly magazine. In a statement to OK! magazine the actress says she feels compelled to sue the publication for misleading her fans. US Weekly featured pictures of Johansson's nose, suggesting she may have gotten plastic surgery...a claim that the actress firmly denies. The magazine says they never blatantly said she had gotten work done.

Rascal Flatts Guitarist Joe Don Rooney will soon become a Dad. The musician and his wife, former Playboy Playmate of the year, Tiffany Fallon, are expecting their first baby. The pair say they are so excited to be parents. Rooney and Fallon married in 2006 in Mexico.

Nicolas Cage is promoting his new film in Japan. He and his wife attended the Japanese premiere of "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" last night. Co-stars Justin Bartha and Diane Kruger also attended. The movie's producer Jerry Bruckheimer made the trip as well. The film is about a treasure hunter, investigating the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It's set for a U.S. release December 21.

Kiefer Sutherland is behind bars.

Kiefer Sutherland is now spending time behind bars. He reportedly turned himself into jail yesterday in Southern California to serve time for violating his probation in a DUI arrest. He was sentenced to 48 days there and is expected to serve the whole time. The judge also ordered the "24" actor to attend therapy sessions, an alcohol education program and spend 5 years on probation.

Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has escaped charges from that incident in the Dublin airport. He was arrested last month after he got into an argument while trying to check into his flight. The "Tudors" actor was facing public drunkenness and breach of peace charges. Rhys Meyers apologized for the confrontation. The actor had previously spent some time in rehab and reports came out days after his arrest that his mother had died.

Josh Groban's new holiday album is continuing to spread cheer among his fans. His new release "Noel" is number one on the Billboard 200 chart for the second week in a row. The Eagles' CD "Long Road Out of Eden" is in the number 2 spot this week. And Alicia Keys' album "As I am" is number 3 this week

Zac Efron is topping the list for "Teen" magazine's 50 hottest Hollywood men. The young star got most of his fame from Disney's "High School Musical." He also co-starred in the big screen hit "Hairspray." Joining Efron on the top of the list are R&B star Chris Brown, who came in second and Efron's "High School Musical" co-star Corbin Bleu in third.

Francis Ford Coppola's new film has made it's way to New York. The mysterious love story "Youth Without Youth" premiered in the big apple last night. Dennis Quaid and wife sue drug company.

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly are taking legal action against the manufacturer of the drug Heparin. The pair are apparently suing the company after their twin babies became seriously ill from an overdose of the drug. They're reportedly seeking more than 50,000 dollars in damages, alleging the manufacturer did not properly label the doses. That resulted in the hospital giving the twins too much of the medicine. Luckily both children are fully recovered now.

Actress Jill Hennessy will now have to handle 3 men in her family. People magazine says the actress and her husband Paolo Mastropietro have welcomed a baby boy named Gianni. They also have a four year old son named Marco.

Amy Winehouse's rep is explaining some of her recent behavior. Winehouse's rep responded to a photo taken of her walking around outside in only a bra and jeans in the early morning hours. Her spokesperson says the singer was sound asleep when noises prompted her to go outside and see what was going on. Apparently she was greeted by a mass of paparazzi. Her rep says despite recent reports of Winehouse's drug use, she was only startled and half asleep.

Martha Stewart is giving gift wrapping tips for the holiday season. The domestic diva demonstrated several wrapping techniques at a K-Mart in New York yesterday. To name just a couple of her tips...buy a variety of wrapping papers that will match with any ribbon and decorate gifts with photos of family members or friends. Stewart has her own Everyday Holiday line at K-Mart stores.

Tom Petty and the heartbreakers are set to headline this year's superbowl halftime show. NFL has announced the band will play at the biggest day in football on February 3 at the University of Phoenix stadium. About 140 million U.S. viewers tuned in for last years' show. The rock band released their first debut album in 1976 and they're known for hits like "Free Fallin" and "Breakdown."
